Once a new convert accepts Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior, we are directed by the Word of God to be baptized in water as a public and symbolic display of the old man dying to past sins and the new man being born again! For the believer, baptism is a testimony of faith and a pledge to walk in newness of life with Jesus Christ.
( Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16, Romans 6: 4-14)
Followed by the Last Supper in the book of Matthew, communion is a sacred worship moment to take part when bread and grape juice- representing Christ's body and blood- are taken in remembrance of Christ's sacrificial offering on the cross at calvary. This is a memorial supper symbolizing Jesus' broken body and shed blood. This is an instruction for believers to do in remembrance of what Christ has done for us.
(Matthew 26: 26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:25)
Displayed and instructed by the Bible, marriage is a Holy, sacred and personal covenant between one man and one woman. This is the union of man and a woman in commitment to one another as husband and wife. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate. It is the representation on earth of the relationship between Christ and the church.
(Gensis 2:18; Matthew 19:4-6, 22:2)
